Project Description: The project “Technical Education and Vocational Training to Youth” was first conceptualized in 2009 with the objective to impart market oriented short-term vocational training to the needy youths. It was further developed in 2010. Underprivileged Children’s Educational Program (UCEP) Nepal as implementing partner inter into the partnership agreement with Aide Et Action in September 2010 to implement the project. The main target of the project was unemployed youths from slum areas but considering the fact that not only youth from slum area but unemployed youths, school leavers and youth with keen interest in vocational training could also serve the objective of the project, it was made more inclusive by integrating those group later on in Annual Project Review of 2010.The project focused on the youths from urban community, urban poor and youths migrated to the city due to different reasons. 1st phase of project completed successfully in 2013 and was extended to 2nd phase. The project has been able to contribute in income generation and livelihood sustainability of urban poor, 1419 youths graduated under this project and got better livelihood opportunities till date.
