Sano Thimi Technical School (STTS) of UCEP Nepal, has been offering market-driven short-term vocational training since its establishment in 1983. It provides vocational education to underprivileged youth and those from marginalized communities, as well as individuals interested in gaining practical skills. STTS focuses on “education for work,” equipping learners with the knowledge and competencies required to successfully enter the workforce. The school offers training in 22 trades, with customized course content to meet current job market demands. Each year, around 1,000 participants graduate from various programs at STTS.
Sano Thimi Technical School (STTS) is a pioneering technical institution in Nepal which provides short term market-oriented courses across various trades. The school maintains strong ties with relevant industries and workshops, ensuring practical, industry-aligned training. Its facilities are well-equipped for all trades, and the primary program, vocational training offers courses ranging from 1 month to 12 month, along with shorter, customized courses based on industry needs. Upon completing the training and final exam, graduates receive certificates, qualifying them to appear in the skill test examination. Over the past 40 years, the school has trained more than 40,000 individuals across various trades.
Objectives of STTS
- To provide technical education and vocational training in regular basis in order to fulfill the demand of skilled and semi skilled manpower of the country.
- To organize workshops, seminars and training programs for emphasizing importance and need of vocational training.
- To provide job oriented and market demanded skillful technical and vocational training to the neediest.
- To provide quality vocational training for underprivileged youths and youths from marginalized communities.
- To provide job opportunities for our graduates in cooperation with different employers and stakeholders.
- To seek for resources in cooperation with different organizations and provide training to underprivileged youths and youths from low economic background.
- To provide comprehensive quality training to grebe opportunity in competitive job market.
Entry Criteria
Individuals meeting the following criteria are eligible to enroll in the training program:
- Basic reading and writing skills
- Completion of at least eighth grade or equivalent level of education
- Minimum of 16 years of age
