Child Rights Advocacy and Networking

Child rights are often violated in Nepal knowingly or unknowingly, intentionally or unintentionally due to multiple factors such as:

  • Extreme poverty of fragmented families
  • Political and social context
  • Social turmoil.
  • Poor parental supervision

UCEP, Nepal has published and introduced UCEP- Nepal child protection policy 2007 and all stake holders of UCEP-Nepal are mandated to adhere to it. In the year 2011 Ministry of Education implemented child protection policy which mentioned school as zone of peace. There should be no influence of political parties in schools. UCEP-Nepal is a member of following networks that advocate child rights issues.

  • CZOPP- Children as Zone of peace and protection
  • NCPD– Network for Child Prisoners and their Dependence
  • HRTMCC- Human Right Treaty Monitoring Coordinating Committee
