Hailed from Baitadi, Gokuleshwor with the strong determination to complete House Wiring training Mr. Krishna Ram Luhar belongs to the poor family of former bonded labour solely depending on agriculture as their only source of family income. His family consists of seven members and it is very difficult to sustain their life with only agriculture option they had. He could not continue his formal education as he failed to pass SLC examination and further study was difficult due to poor family condition.
While he was roaming around his home town in search of job opportunities to financially support his family he met one of the graduates of UCEP Nepal who had undertaken skills training supported by FCA. He suggested Mr. Luhar to appear in the interview and take vocational education at Sano Thimi Technical School. As per suggestion from his friend he appeared in interview and was selected for six months residential training of House Wiring at Sanothimi, Bhaktapur.
During his initial period at STTS, it had been difficult for him to become familiar with the new environment far from his home. But with the support from staff members and friendly behavior of other trainees he became used to the school environment. He was very dedicated during training at his trade as he had strong fortitude to work hard and earn money for his family afterwards. He remembers his good days with his friends when they visited to Sanga, Salinadi and Narayanhiti Museum during their tenure at STTS.
After graduation from UCEP Nepal he passed level 1 skill test examination and was placed with a contractor at Kalanki where he earned Nrs. 650 per day with lunch facilities. After working some period at Kalanki, he also got opportunity of enrolling in Refresher training at UCEP Nepal which focused on providing extra courses on specific training along with Training of Trainer (ToT) training. He completed his ToT training and now he is working as Assistant Instructor around his home town and earning Nrs 22000 per month.
