Livelihood Support for the Youth from Highly Marginalized Community – Phase I & II

Project Description: The project focused on Chepang, Bote and Baram communities of Makawanpur, Chitwan, Gorkha and Dhading districts. In the first pilot phase, 120 youth benefit from skills training and more than 80% of them have already been placed with decent jobs. The projects aim was to contribute the families and communities of the trainees by mainstreaming them with formal economic sector so that others in their social network could benefit from a similar path. Because the first phase of the project was so successful, Embassy of Finland decided to extend the project for two more years. Within the next 20 months the project will benefit 240 more youth from the targeted group from two additional districts, Nawalparasi and Tanahun.
